Cemented as a firm favourite on Brisbane’s iconic Caxton Street, the Press Box provides a chic and sophisticated alternative to the Caxton’s ever-popular sports bar sibling, the Cauldron.

Situated within the Caxton Hotel, one of Brisbane’s oldest licensed premises, the Press Box is the ideal environment in which to relax and enjoy an intimate and stylish catch-up with co-workers, or simply sit at the stools overlooking bustling Caxton Street. The Caxton’s prime position, coupled with the cleverly placed stools directly overlooking the street, makes the Press Box the ideal location to relax, sit back and watch Brisbane go by – with style, of course.

By night, the Press Box transforms into a sophisticated party venue, drawing patrons with its fluorescent lights, central location and always-hectic atmosphere. The Press Box is always a popular venue, day or night. This modern and comfortable bar seats less than its Cauldron counterpart, which ensures a more intimate, contemporary and slightly less sports-oriented venue.

The Press Box caters for those who know that the Caxton is the place to be seen, but who would prefer their catch-up location to be more sophisticated than sports-focused. Indeed, the target demographic here at the Press Box is businessmen and businesswomen aged 25 and upward.

The professional-yet-laid-back bar staff at the Press Box will ensure that the time you spend here is spacious, relaxing and comfortable. And with all cocktails under $20, the Press Box is an ideal location for the working women to relax after a long week and converse comfortably, without having to compete with passionate conversations of footy fans in the vicinity.

At the Press Box, a pint is between $5-$8, ensuring that the drink prices here are down-to-earth, even when the interior decorating is polished, refined and modern. Bar snacks are available all day until 2am. However, if you decide a substantial meal is what you’re craving after a few drinks, the Char Grill downstairs has everything on the menu to cater for the meat-eaters all the way through to the seafood lovers.
