The Curious Squire is for those who like to party in a sophisticated setting. Adelaide’s home of James Squire craft beers, located at the end of O’Connell Street in North Adelaide on the fringe of the Adelaide CBD. Since opening in late 2012, The Curious Squire has grown to be a highly popular spot. With dim lighting, repurposed wood furniture and a vintage-movie theatre approach, everybody feels welcome. The venue features unique, vintage décor to bring to mind a sense of history and storytelling.

The Curious Squire is the only place where you can enjoy the full range of James Squire craft beers. This large range of craft beers is paired perfectly with their American-style food menu. If you wish to grab a seat in this confined space during the warmer seasons of the year, it is best to ring and book or you will be waiting a few hours before a table becomes available. Drink prices range from $9.00-$11.00 per glass. A jug is $30.00 if you are in need of more than one glass.

For those on the more adventurous side of life, they do unique cocktails for $18.00 each. Follow them on Instragram and Facebook to find out what their latest deals are such as; student Tuesday where students can enjoy a $10 jug of James Squire tap beers from 12-7pm, followed with Curious Quiz nights from 8pm. Wednesday’s you can enjoy 50-cent Buffalo wings that go down perfectly with your drinks. Be warned, kids eat free on Thursdays, try not to get caught up in family date night. You can also enjoy live music on Sunday’s from 6pm.

The atmosphere varies depending on the night you go and time of year; on weekends it can be busy throughout the day and begins to die down around 10pm. On weeknights it can often be near impossible to find a seat from early afternoon to late at night, especially during summer. With their unique wooden table settings, you can be placed next to two random people that after a few drinks will soon become your new best friends. With a mixed crowd of business workers, party-goers and large groups of young men and women meeting for their annual catch-up it is fun to play who can spot the best dressed hipster in the room.

Also a function venue, The Curious Squire is a great location for any business dinner or birthday party. Including an outdoor sitting area, large bar and enough space if you wish to hire a DJ or band, the location and layout is perfect for your next small event.

During afternoons, it is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy a nice cold beverage at the bar. Although the area is confined, it is still easy to make your way through the cluster of large tables. Often the large atmosphere that fills the space can put off some people, but it is worth waiting at the door for your chance to be seated so you can be included in the unique vintage-American vibe that this superior venue has to offer.
